The short answer
On iPhone and iPad, Discord blocks servers focused on explicit content inside its app, even for verified adults. Age-restricted servers that are not explicit open after you turn on Allow access to age-restricted content on iOS from a computer. For explicit servers, use Discord in Safari (or Chrome), on a computer or on Android: Discord's own help center names the desktop and web versions as the way in.
Where 18+ servers open, by device
Discord sorts age-restricted servers into two groups, and the iPhone app treats them differently. This is how it looks for an adult account in October 2026:
| Where you open Discord | Age-restricted server | Explicit server (like LUST) |
|---|---|---|
| Discord app on iPhone or iPad | With iOS setting | Blocked |
| Safari or Chrome on iPhone | Works | Works |
| Discord app on Android | Works | Works |
| Computer (app or browser) | Works | Works |
Every row assumes your account is in Discord's adult age group. Teen and unconfirmed accounts cannot enter age-restricted servers anywhere; see how to verify your age on Discord.
The iOS setting, and what it does not fix
Discord hides age-restricted servers in the iOS app until you opt in, and the switch only exists on desktop and web:
- Sign in on a computer, or at discord.com/app in a browser.
- Open User Settings (the cog next to your name) and choose Messaging Permissions.
- Turn on Allow access to age-restricted content on iOS.
- Fully close the Discord app on your iPhone and open it again.
Age-restricted servers you are already in now show up in the app. Servers that are specifically focused on explicit content stay blocked in the iOS app even with the switch on; only their owners and moderators can see them there. That is why an NSFW server can still be missing after you flipped the setting.
Join an explicit server from Safari, step by step
Discord's web version runs in Safari and is not covered by the app's block. It is built for computers, so the layout is small on a phone, but chat, images and joining all work.
- Copy the invite link instead of tapping it. Tapping a Discord link on iPhone opens the app, where the server is blocked. For LUST, copy it here:
https://discord.gg/FsHSGRc2Dr
- Open Safari, paste the link into the address bar and go. A link you type or paste yourself loads in Safari instead of jumping to the app.
- If Discord shows an "Open in app" page, open Safari's page menu (the aA or ... button by the address bar) and choose Request Desktop Website. In Chrome, open the menu and choose Request Desktop Site.
- Log in and accept the invite. If Discord asks you to confirm your age, do it there.
- Come back the same way. Open discord.com/app in Safari whenever you want the server. To make it one tap, use Safari's Share button and Add to Home Screen.
Want the full app experience? Use Discord on a computer or an Android phone. Your account, friends and DMs are the same everywhere, and servers you join in the browser stay joined on every device.
On iPhone? Copy the invite above and open it in Safari. LUST is free and strictly 18+.
Join LUST on DiscordStill not working?
| What you see | Fix |
|---|---|
| "You must be an adult" or a Confirm Age prompt | Your account is not in the adult age group. Open User Settings, Account Status and press Confirm Age. Every method. |
| Safari keeps opening the Discord app | Tapped links open the app. Copy the link and paste it into Safari's address bar instead. |
| In the server, but no NSFW channels | Many 18+ servers unlock NSFW channels after their own verification. On LUST that is three live selfies reviewed by staff: how it works. |
| Images are blurred | Set the sensitive media filter to Show in User Settings, Content & Social, or tap the image. Details. |
| The Discord app itself will not open | Discord's iOS app is rated 17+. Check Screen Time, Content & Privacy Restrictions, Content Restrictions, Apps. |
Other missing-channel causes, from hidden categories to old app versions: can't see NSFW channels on Discord.
FAQ
Why are NSFW Discord servers blocked on iPhone?
Discord applies stricter rules in its iOS app to meet Apple's App Store requirements. Age-restricted servers need an opt-in made on desktop, and servers focused on explicit content are blocked in the iOS app entirely, even for verified adults.
How do I turn on NSFW on Discord on iPhone?
Sign in on a computer or in a browser, open User Settings, Messaging Permissions and enable "Allow access to age-restricted content on iOS". Then fully close and reopen the iPhone app. This opens age-restricted servers you already joined, but not servers built around explicit content.
Which NSFW Discord servers are not blocked on iOS?
Age-restricted servers that are not focused on explicit content work in the iPhone app once the iOS toggle is on. Servers dedicated to porn and nudes, LUST included, stay blocked in the app; on iPhone you use them in Safari or Chrome instead.
Can I join an NSFW Discord server from Safari on iPhone?
Yes. Discord's help center says adults on iOS can join and use these servers on the desktop and web versions of Discord. Paste the invite link into Safari's address bar, request the desktop website if Discord pushes you to the app, log in and accept.
Does a VPN unblock NSFW Discord servers on iOS?
No. The block depends on the app you use, not on your location, so a VPN changes nothing inside the iPhone app. Discord in a browser already works without one.
Is it the same on iPad?
Yes. The iPad app follows the same iOS rules. Use Safari on the iPad, a computer or an Android device for servers built around explicit content.
Do I still need to confirm my age?
Only if Discord has not placed your account in the adult age group. Check User Settings, Account Status. Teen and unconfirmed accounts cannot join age-restricted servers on any device.
